Abstract

This article discusses development trends of the medical services market in the Russian Federation, studies the structure of medical organizations by the ownership, as well as the structure of paid services to the population for 2015-2018. Trends in the development of medical services market include: increased requirements for the service component of services provided, decrease in the number of comprehensive examinations, increased requirements on the part of patients for the qualifications of medical workers and the manufacturability of medical care, priority of preventive medicine, development of medical tourism, and the enlargement of networks of medical institutions. Development of the market for paid medical services is constrained by a decrease in effective demand, a lack of professional staff to provide medical services, and a lack of incentives to participate in the government programs due to the low level of government tariffs in the compulsory health insurance system for commercial organizations.
