Drug abuse prevention: how orphans of the Khabarovsk territory see it

Abstract

This article consider evaluation of drug prevention and non-medical drug use, that based on the results of sociological research, conducted in the framework of monitoring the drug situation in the Khabarovsk territory, as well as a poll or-phans of the Khabarovsk territory. The research results conducted from 2012 year show consistently low assessment of the efficacy of the drug abuse prevention work, as well as a low level of trust in the "official" counter-drugs propaganda, according to adolescents and young adults. Comparative analysis of the orphans’ survey brings out higher evaluation of the prevention effectiveness and the trust level. Detected trends show the evidence of the tradition prevention methods only under specific conditions in relative to closed institutions. This fact emphasize the necessity of introduction into practice the forms and methods of educational work that focused on personality’s socialization.
