Main forms and problems of organization of the Japanese citizens’ inbound tourism in the soviet Far East in the middle of 1960th – 1980th

Abstract

The article analyses the most important organization forms of the Japanese inbound tourism in the Soviet Far East at 1960s – 1980s. There are “ships of friendship”, business tourism, recreation of Japanese children in the Soviet summer camps etc. The author demonstrated the main difficulties of development of inbound tourism: the Cold War, bureaucracy, low quality of soviet-made tours. He draws a conclusion, that tourism and cultural relationships with Japan was only the instrument for the USSR economy and diplomacy.
