The problems of indigenous people of Yakutia in the governors’ reports (the second part of XIX century – the beginning of XX century)

Abstract

This article is about reports of the Yakut governors, which reflected the politics of the Russian empire in relation to the indigenous people. The new historical documents were published. The main finding of the whole article is that the quality and quantity of such reports depended on the personality of a governor. Nowadays these regional reports actually are true, and the work on improving the mechanism of presenting reports of the regions to the main government.
