Preservation and Strengthening of Spiritual and Moral Values in Russian Society: Legal and Social Aspects

Abstract

The article examines the issues of preserving and strengthening spiritual and moral values as a subject of state policy and public consciousness of the population, especially among young people. At the present time questions are being raised at all levels of government, considering the state policy of spiritual and moral education for the preservation of Russian identity. The results of sociological research based on a review of scientifi publications devoted to the development of the system of spiritual and moral values, as well as an analysis of social and legal regulation have shown that it is necessary to constantly analyze and improve approaches and tools for the formation of such spiritual and moral values as determination, faith in goodness, strong family, creative work, courage, devotion to one's country, unity of people, and continuity of national history, especially among the younger generation. The analysis of legal support in this area of relations has led to the idea that we need to expand the limits of legal regulation in terms of preserving and strengthening spiritual and moral values in the process of education and upbringing of young people in the Russian Federation. The authors of the article conclude that it is necessary to establish a legal basis for spiritual and moral education in the form of regulatory legal acts that will correspond to the goals of developing a comprehensive education system. The entire structure of the education and upbringing system should be focused on upholding traditional Russian spiritual, moral, cultural and historical values.
