The article describes the characteristics of crime in the Khabarovsk territory and its municipal districts according to the statistical research performed between 2002 and 2011. The data reveal a connection between the basic characteristics of crime, such as the level and the structure, and the social-demographic features of the region as a result of its geographic location and the national structure of the population. The author argues that the social-demographic conditions for implementation of crime prevention measures must be considered.

The article describes the regional particularities of crime in the places where the indigenous population of the Amur territory lives. It also describes the criminogenic factors that create the real or potential dangers of committing the crime, which, taken together, form the threats to the criminological security in the investigated territory.
