The article reveals the content of concept “national intelligentsia”, the process of the origin of Yakut intelligentsia in the second-half of XIX century. The main attention in the work the author accentuates on the activity of Egor Dmitrievich Nikolaev – the enlightener and public figure of Yakutiya.
