The article is devoted to the analysis of the social group of «hired workers». The basic characteristics of hired workers and the aspects of social differentiation of the given group in the social space are considered. In the article the importance of studying of the labor life of hired workers for the improvement of the quality of life of the working population, for carrying out of the effective social policy at all levels of the management is underlined.
