Electric power industry of the USSR in the Far East during the Great Patriotic War (1941 – 1945).

Abstract

The article deals with the main aspects and problems of electric power in the Far East of the USSR during the Great Patriotic War. The article shows that the existing structure of the power industry in the region by the beginning of the war did not meet the terms of its socio-economic development. When the war and reconstruction of the economy began in the Far East the energy crisis was broken out which local party and local authorities tried to overcome during the war. Despite all these measures, the defense industry evolved in a tough deficit in electricity. The authors conclude that the existing problems of the power industry in the region ultimately did not allow using the military-industrial potential of the USSR Far East in full.
