The article considers the peculiarities of the historical and legal regulation of the contract of delivery in Russia. The concept of the contract of delivery, its essence at different stages of historic development of the Institute of delivery is given.

The article is devoted to the formation of goods delivery within the principle of the contract freedom, and also the statistics of the territorial body of the Federal State Statistics Service characterizing the delivery relations on products importation to the Far North of the Khabarovsk Territory.
